(951) 264-1598

Lesson Plans

Based on the individual interests and learning style of the student, the intent is to inspire and guide development of skills and musicianship

Styles/Genres

Along with building a solid technical foundation, much of the lesson material includes student favorites.

Piano Levels

Adri's music piano lesson levels range from beginners to intermediate

Guitar Levels

Guitar lesson levels range from beginner to intermediate. Skill development includes chords, melodies, and improvisation

Music Theory

Music theory is an integral part of music education at Adri's Music and is woven into each lesson in interesting and digestable segments

Philosophy

Music is a gift and learning music should be joyful and should build confidence. Progressive skill mastery offers a frequent sense of accomplishment and fosters personal accountability. Practice is the vehicle to mastery and is an art in and of itself. Practice should be intentional and mindful. The amount of necessary practice time will vary from lesson to lesson but the student will be given clear instruction on what and how to practice. Daily conscious and correct practice yields excellent results.

Recitals

At Adri's Music, we have recitals 2-3 times per year. The students are well prepared and many valuable life lessons are learned during recital preparation. Participation is very strongly encouraged. Recitals are fun, community events.

How

After an initial evaluation and meeting, materials and methods will be chosen that are geared to the students learning style, musical tastes and goals. The student will have an assignment book with an itemized list of tasks to practice and perform each day in preparation for the next lesson. Lessons progress as skills and knowledge are attained and mastered.

Why

Because music makers make the world a better place. Because Studies have shown that music training improves cognitive abilities (e.g., working memory, attention and inhibition) across our life span. This has been shown with both short-term and long-term music training. Because playing an instrument requires many different areas of the brain, it strengthens a variety of neuronal connections. This allows for an increase in signal efficiency (that is, how quickly neurons communicate with each other across the brain), which may be why musicians may perform better in cognitive tasks than non-musicians.

When

Lessons are weekly and at least 30 minutes long but could run 10 to 15 minutes over. 60 minute lessons are availble if requested.

Where

I, Adrienne, am a travel teacher and I'll come to your home or location. An instrument is needed in the home for lesson use and daily practice.
